We get asked ...

Do I have to be of the United Church faith or have a church background to go to the Donway Covenant?

Not at all. We welcome people of all denominations and faiths! The United Church has a history of inclusivity and you will feel right at home with your questions, doubts and individuality.

What kind of people go to Donway Covenant?

As many different types of people as you can imagine. There's a place for singles, couples and families as well as youth to seniors. We welcome people of diverse faith, ethnicities, ages and stages of life, physical and mental abilities, economic situations, sexual orientation and gender identiies. Our sermons are thought-provoking, our music inspiring and hospitality welcoming. Both newcomers and regular parishioners often come on their own. After the Sunday morning service we enjoy fair trade tea and coffee in the auditorium, so please join us and you'll get to know others in no time.

Is there a place for my children at the Donway Covenant?

Always! Your children are welcome to stay with you in the sanctuary (where the service takes place) or join the our Sunday School Coordinator for music and stories in the Christian Education building beside the sanctuary.

Can I get married at the Donway Covenant, or do I have to be a member?

Many people prefer to conduct important family events like weddings in a church. You don't need to be a member, but you will need to speak with one of our staff to discuss your plans and make sure we are the right location for you.

The Donway Covenant would be honoured to be part of your wedding or other important family events such as a baptism or a funeral for a loved one. Whatever your need, the best way to begin the process is by contacting Jaren in our office by email (click here to email) or calling her at 416-444-8444.

Is the Donway Covenant wheelchair accessible?

Yes. the Donway Covenant has easy-access entrance to all our buildings.

Can my group rent space at the Donway Covenant?

We do rent space to various groups, organizations  and businesses. That makes the Donway Covenant a busy place almost every day and night throughout the week. There is limited space and time slots available. Contact Jaren (click here to email) or call 416-444-8444 for more details.

Where does the church get money?

We depend on our church family for financial support for the bulk of our expenses. Some people use weekly or monthly envelopes, others our convenient Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) Program. The money collected is used to cover our annual operating costs, building maintenance and renovations, and the various outreach projects we undertake each year.

We also receive rent from the various tenants renting our facilities. We hold an annual fund-raising event each fall which draws people from far and wide. Community members, friends and relatives can also donate funds to the church at any time.
