What is The Donway Covenant is all about?

Whether you are religious or spiritual, devoted, or curious our doors are open to you. Come and check us out!

We are located in Don Mills at 230 The Donway West, closest major intersection is Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East. There is plenty of parking available if you are arriving by car. There are TTC bus stops located at The Donway West and Don Mills Road and The Donway West and Lawrence Avenue East. It is just a few short blocks to the church from there. Enter into our church through the main doors right off the parking lot.

Our services are at 10:30 every Sunday morning. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to orient yourself to the building and the worship service to come. Our services typically last one hour.

Once You Are Inside

Greeters will be waiting at the main doors to offer a warm welcome and answer any questions you may have. Since most people find it more comfortable to remove their overcoats before worship, coat racks are available in the lobby area for this purpose.

There are ushers, at the entrance to the Sanctuary, who will provide you with the weekly bulletin (program) which contains guidelines for participation in the service. Once seated, you will be able to enjoy the music that precedes worship.

We are also wheelchair accessible to all of our buildings.

What Kind of People Go to the Donway Covenant? What About Children?

As many different types of people as you can imagine. There's a place for singles, couples and families as well as youth to seniors. We welcome people of diverse faith, ethnicities, ages and stages of life, physical and mental abilities, economic situations, sexual orientation and gender identiies. Our sermons are thought-provoking, our music inspiring and hospitality welcoming. Both newcomers and regular parishioners often come on their own. After the Sunday morning service we enjoy fair trade tea and coffee in the auditorium, so please join us and you'll get to know others in no time. 

Your children are also welcome to join us and can stay with you in the sanctuary (where the service takes place). 

What Should I Wear?

Everyone is encouraged to feel comfortable when worshipping with us. People come to church in a great variety of clothing. Some prefer being "dressed up" for Sunday worship, others dress casually. We appreciate and celebrate diversity in our congregation. 

Are There Any Requirements I Should Know About?

There are no requirements for you to join us.

Whether you are baptized or not you are welcome. Baptism is a very personal thing. We do not require that you be baptized to participate fully at The Donway Covenant. At the same time, should you feel this is something you’d like to pursue, you are invited to discuss it with our minister.

A few Sunday's throughout out the year Communion will be served. You may be wondering if you are allowed to participate. You will hear us say “Everyone is welcome at the table.” That means you may join if you are sincerely seeking to follow Christ. If you want to observe the first time, that is also fine by us. There is no pressure either way. Like baptism, receiving communion is a personal choice.

Whether or not you are a member of the United Church of Canada you are welcome. We are open to anyone who is on a spiritual journey. Come out and see if The Donway Covenant is the place to call your spiritual home.
